HIGH GLOSS WATERBASED URETHANE ANTI GRAFFITI

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Pruett-Schaffer’s #69-12 Clear Urethane is a two part, water based, acrylic urethane coating. It is designed as a high gloss, spray applied clear finish coat for a variety of exterior or interior maintenance applications. It exhibits excellent anti-graffiti properties, and has very good water, solvent, UV and abrasion resistance. Due to its high cross linking it exhibits superior chemical resistance and durability.

RECOMMENDED USES

This product is recommended as an anti-graffiti top coat for a wide range of applications. It will also provide long term, effective protection against water, salt, oil, graffiti, acidic and alkali cleaners. It gives the resulting film a high gloss finish without extenders. It is recommended for use over our 68 or 22 series primers.

SURFACE PREPARATION

At a minimum for acceptable performance, surfaces to be coated must be clean and dry, free of oil/grease, loose rust/paint, weld spatter, burning slag, dust, and chalk. Feather all rough or sharp edges. Existing coatings must be tightly adhering.

Some well-cured existing coatings may need to be deglossed by sanding or abrasion for this coating to develop its best adhesion; test patches should be made to determine if adhesion is adequate.

MIXING

69-12 Is a two-component urethane. It is to be mixed as received 4:1 by volume. Pot life ~ 3 hours

THINNING

Under normal conditions no thinning is necessary; if thinning is desired add a little water at a time with constant gentle agitation to a maximum of 5% by volume.

APPLICATION EQUIPMENT

This product may be sprayed with conventional, air assisted or airless spray . May be applied by brush or roller. Brushes should be of polyester or nylon construction. Rollers should have a nap thickness of ¹/₄ to ³/₈ inch. Apply to 2-4 mils wet film thickness (1-2 mils dry film thickness).

DRYING TIME

Dries tack free in 2 to 3 hours at 77 ^F and 55% R.H.

Dry through ~ 11 hours

CLEANUP

Clean equipment with water before the film dries.

ENVIRONMENTAL

This product meets current air pollution regulations regarding hydrocarbon and ozone reactive emissions. It is VOC compliant for most industries, and contains no lead, chromate, zinc, or free isocyanate.
