BEIGE HIGH GLOSS ANTI-GRAFFITI COATING

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Pruett-Schaffer’s #66-2-3 Beige is a two component solvent based Fluoro-polymer/polyester urethane It is designed as a high gloss, spray applied finish coat for a variety of exterior or interior maintenance applications. It exhibits good film hardness and flexibility, and excellent water, chemical, and abrasion resistance. Unlike most anti-graffiti coatings, the #66-2 Fluoro-polymer is grafted into the entire dry film (rather than just on the surface) and therefore provides long-term anti-graffiti properties.

RECOMMENDED USES

This product is recommended for general maintenance use on a wide variety of substrates including existing coatings, cold rolled steel, aluminum, concrete, and plastics. It will provide long term, cost effective protection against water, salt, oil, and alkali cleaners as well as its use as anti-graffiti coating. This product has passed FDA 175.300 extraction testing for direct food contact.

SURFACE PREPARATION

At a minimum for acceptable performance, surfaces to be coated must be clean and dry, free of oil/grease, loose rust/paint, weld spatter, burning slag, dust, and chalk. Feather all rough or sharp edges. Existing coatings must be tightly adhering.

Some well-cured existing coatings may need to be deglossed by sanding or abrasion for this coating to develop its best adhesion; test patches should be made to determine if adhesion is adequate.

MIXING INSTRUCTIONS

Mix 3 parts by volume #66-2-3 A with 1 part 66-2-3 B Hardener. 66-2-3 A Component will not dry unless mixed with its B component!

THINNING

Under normal conditions no thinning is necessary.

APPLICATION EQUIPMENT

Air assisted or airless spray application is preferred. Use a .009-.011 inch tip with a pressure of 3000-3500 psi. and 200 mesh in line filter. Apply 3-4 mils wet to achieve 1 mil dry film thickness. Films above 2 mils dry film thickness might become milky due to entrapped air. Apply when air & substrate temperatures are between 50 & 100 degrees F.

CURE TIME

Dry to touch in 3-4 hours. Dries tack free in 5 hours at 750 F.B Pot life is 1 hour after mixing components.

CLEANUP

Clean equipment with XYLOL or MEK before the product cures.

TOUCH UP

Touch up areas can be lightly sanded and re-coated. Wet sanding followed by cleaning with a tack rag is recommended.

ENVIRONMENTAL

This product meets current air pollution regulations regarding hydrocarbon and ozone reactive emissions. It is VOC compliant for most industrial uses, and contains no lead or chromate.
