WHITE ACRYLIC URETHANE

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Pruett Schaffer’s 65-13058 is a two component, air drying, solvent thinned, polyisocyanate cured acrylic coating. It is designed as a spray applied, heavy-duty, high gloss anti-corrosive coating for metal or concrete for use over Epoxy or Urethane primer.

RECOMMENDED USES

Use to protect metal from corrosion in aggressive environments where chemicals, acid, alkali, salt, water, fuels, and oils are present. This coating exhibits excellent flexibility and resistance to impact cracking, and has excellent adhesion to difficult metal substrates. It is not recommended for constant immersion service.

SURFACE PREPARATION

Remove all oil, grease or foreign substances with chemical, detergent or solvent cleaning. Blast to SSPC-SP-6 for best results for most normal conditions.

(1-1.5 mil profile) Apply over 10, 13 or 14 series Epoxy or 60 series urethane.

For aggressive hostile environments near white blast is preferred.

MIXING INSTRUCTIONS

Mix 4 parts by volume #65-13058 A with 1 part 65-13058 B Hardener. 65-13058 A Component will not dry unless mixed with its B component!

THINNING

Thin if necessary for spraying with Acetone or Methyl Acetate to maintain VOC. MIBK or Xylol may be used if not considering VOC's. Add a little solvent at a time to the mixed system with constant gentle agitation to a maximum of 5% by volume.

APPLICATION EQUIPMENT

Airless spray equipment is recommended for most heavy-duty applications. Apply at 6 to 10 mils wet film thickness to yield approximately 3-5 mils dry film thickness. Use a .013-.015 Tip at 2800-3200 psi for best results. Use a 60 mesh in line filter.

Apply when air and substrate temperatures are between 50-110 F.

CURE TIMES & TEMPERATURES

Cures set-to-touch in 1 hour & can be topcoated in 1 hour at 75 F. It also may be recoated up to 96 hours later. Pot life once mixed is 1.75-2.25 hours @ 75 degrees F. Topcoat with 66 series anti-graffitti coating if desired.

CLEANUP

Clean equipment with xylol or methyl isobutyl ketone before the film cures.

ENVIRONMENTAL

This product contains no lead or chromate. It is VOC compliant for most industrial applications.
