BLACK ABRASION RESISTANT LINING |
|
DESCRIPTION OF PRODUCT
#63-17038 Black is a high performance, 100% solids two component, polyether urethane. It will provide state of the art protection from abrasion, acids, weak alkalies, oils, salt, & moisture.
Designed to be elastomeric & highly abrasion resistant for thick film applications, this products' fast cure time makes for minimal down time. This product is not intended for consumer use and should be applied by experienced professional applicators only.
PACKAGING
This coating is packaged and labeled as 63-17038-A Curing Agent and 84-17038-B Black Polyol Component. Each component is supplied in 55 gallon drums.
RECOMMENDED USE
See Table 1 for recommended coating service specifications and required dry film thickness: |
TABLE 1
20-40 mils: Pedestrian and light vehicle traffic (drum dollies, carts, etc.); incidental chemical exposure such as cleaning compounds, household chemicals, etc.
40-60 mils: Light to moderate traffic and abrasion service (golf carts and light forklift trucks); moderate chemical exposure seen in food service areas, laundries, light duty warehouses.
60-80 mils: Heavy vehicle traffic or severe abrasion service (heavy duty warehouses, shop floors, vehicle garages); extreme or prolonged chemical exposure such as containment areas, manufacturing plants, and aircraft hangers.
SURFACE PREPARATION
Apply over clean, dry, properly prepared substrates. The system Shall only be sprayed when all of the following ambient conditions are met: a. The substrate or surface to be sprayed is dry b. The substrate surface temperature is at least 40 F c. The dew point is less than 65F d. The relative humidity is less than 85% e. The substrate temperature must be at least 5 degrees above the dew point
|
MIXING INSTRUCTIONS
Before spraying, both the Curing Agent & Polyol must be preheated to a minimum temperature of 80 °F. This can be accomplished through the use of Band heaters or Torpedo Heaters. The polyol component must be pre-mixed prior to use with a 1.5 hp, bung mounted mixer with AT LEAST 2 sets of collapsible blades for a minimum of 20 minutes to ensure uniformity. Mix ratio is 1:1 by volume.
CAUTION: STORAGE TEMPERATURES SHOULD BE MAINTAINED BETWEEN 60-95F. The Curing Agent component must not be allowed to freeze. Exposure to temperatures below 60 F, even for short periods, can result in the formation of solid material. It may be possible to re-liquify the Curing Agent by reheating. (DO NOT EXCEED 140F.) Drum rollers or agitation is HIGHLY recommended to avoid excessive local heating. STORING AT EXCESSIVE HEAT or PROLONGED TEMPERATURES BELOW 60F CAN RESULT IN A CHANGE IN CHEMISTRY WHICH CAN MAKE THE PRODUCT UNUSABLE!!!!!!!

APPLICATION METHOD: This product can be applied using both high & low pressure equipment. It is essential to have equipment that consistently delivers accurate amounts of both components. It shall only be applied using the following approved plural component equipment. These machines must be outfitted with 5:1 pneumatic feed pumps. Diaphragm pumps must NOT be used to transfer material from drum to machine! …GUSMER 20/35 …GRACO H-XP2 or E-XP2 …GLAS CRAFT MH or MHIII a desiccant cartridge must be inserted in small bung of both drums to reduce exposure to atmospheric moisture during application!
