GENERAL DESCRIPTION Pruett-Schaffer’s #59-1 is an air drying, solvent based, (NON-ASBESTOS) fibre reinforced asphaltic mastic. It may be applied by trowel, putty knife or squeegee. It exhibits good surface wetting properties for difficult to clean substrates and corrosion & water resistance. It can be used as a water-proof sealant for concrete or ceramic piping (between the joints) or as a repair compound for holes in asphalt shingled or metal roofs. RECOMMENDED USES This product is recommended for general maintenance on steel or concrete structures wherever normal interior or exterior atmospheric conditions exist. It is designed for use as a corrosion preventative & waterproofing compound over concrete & metal substrates, both above & below grade, exposed to humidity, salt water, oil, weak acids & alkali. The coating is not normally topcoated & is not recommended for exposure to solvents, gasoline or other fuels. If topcoat is required for aesthetic reasons use 25-Series ceramic acrylic.	SURFACE PREPARATION For best performance, new metal substrates should be clean, dry, & free of oil/grease. Concrete should have all form release oils, curing membranes & dirt removed. This coating is very tolerant of less than perfect surface preparation. Feather all rough or sharp edges. THINNING Under normal conditions no thinning is necessary. Thin if necessary with mineral spirits. Add a little at a time with constant gentle agitation to a maximum of 5% by volume. APPLICATION EQUIPMENT May be applied by trowel, squeegee or putty knife Apply up to ¼ “ per coat . Thicker coats may slump in hotter weather or crack after shrinking. DRYING TIME Dries tack free overnight at 70 ^0F.	CLEANUP Clean equipment with mineral spirits ,xylol or toluol before the film dries. ENVIRONMENTAL This product contains no lead, chromate, zinc or asbestos.
