Safety Blue Semi-Gloss Paint

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

 

Pruett-Schaffer’s #36-12210 Safety Blue Paint is a  fast air-drying, solvent based enamel.  It is designed for spray application but can be applied by brush or roller. It is not VOC compliant. It has good hiding properties.

RECOMMENDED USES

 

This product is recommended for general industrial use in exterior or interior environments. The medium oil alkyd vehicle normally dries tack free in 2 to 4 hours. It is not recommended for immersion service or for areas subject to severe chemical exposure.

 

SURFACE PREPARATION

 

For maximum durability apply over a 30-Series alkyd primer. Follow surface preparations for  the primer. If used direct to metal, power or hand tool cleaning is acceptable for most applications. Surface should be free of dirt, oil and grease.

 

 

THINNING

 

Under normal conditions no thinning is necessary.  Thin if necessary for spraying with VM&P Naphtha or Toluol.  Add a little at a time with constant gentle agitation to a maximum of 5% by volume.

APPLICATION EQUIPMENT

 

May be applied by brush, air-assisted, or airless spray.  Airless spray gives the best results, use .015-.020 inch tip size.  Brushes should be of polyester or nylon construction.  If applying with a cup type spray gun, thinning may improve application properties.  Apply to 2-4 mil dry film thickness  for longer service life.

 

DRYING TIME

 

Dries tack free in 2-4 hours at 77 0F and 50% relative humidity..

 

 

 

CLEANUP

Clean equipment with Mineral Spirits before the film dries.

This product contains no lead, chromate, or zinc and is  NOT VOC compliant.
