Pruett-Schaffer’s #29-32 Gray Enamel is a waterbased, fast air drying, alkyd-acrylic hybrid paint. It is designed for general use as a high gloss topcoat over metal substrates.

This product is recommended as a maintenance coating for equipment and machinery, sheet and tube stock, shelving, axles, bins and tanks. This product exhibits the same excellent application characteristics of a waterbased alkyd, yet offers improved exterior durability and flexibility, improved gloss retention, and faster dry times. The VOC is less than most waterbased alkyds. Adhesion is outstanding to a wide variety of substrates including minimally prepared cold rolled steel, castings, forgings, aluminum, and existing coatings.

Under normal conditions no thinning is necessary or desirable. Thin if necessary for proper spraying with an 80/20 mixture of water/butyl cellosolve (Pruett-Schaffer Thinner #98-8937). Add thinner a little at a time with constant gentle agitation to a maximum of 5% by volume.

This paint may be applied by dip tank application, air-assisted, or airless spray, roller, or brush. Apply 1.0 to 1.5 mils dry film thickness if used as a direct-to-metal.
