FLAT WHITE WATERBASED ACRYLIC

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Pruett-Schaffer’s #20-32 White is a fast drying, low gloss, economical, acrylic latex water based paint. #20-32 is an environmentally friendly, “zero” VOC product.

RECOMMENDED USES

This product may be used as a wood or wall-board primer. It is fast drying and can be used as a “dry-fall” coating or as a flat ceiling or wall paint. It provides protection on interior surfaces not exposed to weathering or harsh environment. Although 20-32 does not contain rust inhibitors, the acrylic vehicle will prevent corrosion for up to 6 months on exterior exposure.

SURFACE PREPARATION

Apply as any normal water-based primer or topcoat. At a minimum for acceptable performance, all surfaces to be coated must be clean, dry, and free of oil and grease, loose rust and paint, weld spatter, burning slag, and excessive dust or chalk.

THINNING

Under normal conditions, no thinning is necessary or desirable. Thin if necessary

for proper spraying with tap water. Add thinner a little at a time with constant gentle agitation to a maximum of 5% by volume. Over-thinning will cause runs and poorer hiding.

APPLICATION EQUIPMENT

This paint may be applied by air-assisted, airless spray, roller or brush.

DRYING TIME

Dries tack free in 15-30 minutes at 77 F and 50% Relative Humidity. Light handling may be possible in 30 minutes. High humidity will prolong dry time more so than low temperatures. To speed the dry time good air movement over the work and local exhaust is recommended. Heat lamps or forced warm air-drying will reduce dry time in cold shops.

CLEANUP

Clean equipment with warm soap and water or before the film dries. Run ethyl alcohol through spray guns after cleaning to prevent corrosion of steel parts.

ENVIRONMENTAL

This product meets current air pollution regulations regarding hydrocarbon and ozone reactive emissions. It contains no lead or chromate, and complies with current federal regulations regarding the use of lead in paint.
